Clay-Chalkville students Kathryn Hancock and Jonathan Holladay represented all AP JefCoEd students for the dramatic increases on AP tests since 2008 which was celebrated at Ramsay High School on September 29. The JefCoEd eight schools more than doubled their numbers of passing scores on AP exams since joining the program, A+ College Read initiative. The initiative is funded by a $13.2 million grant from the National Math and Science Initiative, a public-private partnership. Funding came from the Governor, the State Department of Education, the Alabama Power Foundation, The Alabama Math, Science and Technology Education Coalition, Regions Financial Corporation, and the ExxonMobile Corporation.

The students represented all AP students from eight county schools whose scores increased 135% since 2008. Scores on AP tests taken in math, science, and English increased from 203 in 2008 to 478 in 2010. Congratulations all teachers and students!
